This painting is inspired by that cool and gentle light you can get before the sun is even a consideration in the mornings. My smaller paintings examine the interaction of colour and shapes. How I decide upon marks within my works and references how colour and light can be seen when looking at it closely in the environment around us. Its capacity to surprise and create joy.
