This painting was inspired by the walled garden in Saumarez Park in Guernsey. The vibrancy of the colours from the flower and flashing movement of the light as it plays on the wall climbers and nearby overhanging trees. Walled gardens are also interesting places, highly structured, with lots of straight lines, but the main purpose is something organic, moving and flowing.
