Waves on Rocks Tapestry

This tapestry was inspired by some rock formations in Guernsey, the play of light across the facets in the rock and their relationship with heavy seas. Guernsey has granite rock cliffs, especially around the south side of the island, that are weathered and have very interesting formations.

New Zealand wool and silk. It is hand knotted tapestry with the Aubusson style executed by Hines of Oxford. The tapestry has a hidden hanging system and is about 1.3 million knots.
