Shaded Pool Tapestry

This tapestry is based around an imaginary place, a pool under a cliff and overhung by trees. The celebration is of the subtle and deep colours that pervade such an environment. This relates to one of my greatest inspirations which are the Monet paintings in La Orangerie in Paris.

Medium

New Zealand wool and silk. It is hand knotted tapestry with the Aubusson style executed by Hines of Oxford. The tapestry has a hidden hanging system and is about 900,000 knots.
